Our commitment
The Faculty Lounge is built for every teacher, including teachers who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. Our goal is for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
We are early in that work, and we would rather be honest about it than decorate this page with promises. The site launched in July 2026, a full accessibility review is on our current roadmap, and this page will be updated in plain language as that review moves through the site.
What is already in place
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on links, buttons, and controls across the site.
- A larger-than-default base text size, and a firm minimum text size on phones, because tiny type is an accessibility problem too.
- Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting. Pages with animation show their content instantly when that setting is on.
- Headings, form labels, and alt text written so pages can be navigated by screen reader.
- Text and background color pairings checked against contrast guidelines on our core pages.
Known limitations
The Seating Chart Maker is a drag-and-drop tool designed for a desktop mouse. It does not yet work well with a keyboard or a screen reader, and it does not yet have a phone layout. We know, and it is on the list.
Some of the interactive tools and the forums are still being reviewed, and we expect that review to find things we missed. If you hit a barrier that is not listed here, that is a gap in our knowledge, not a sign that we consider the site finished.
Request an accommodation or report a barrier
If a page or tool does not work with your screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology, tell us through the contact page. Include the page you were on and what happened. Accessibility reports go to the top of our queue, and we aim to respond within two business days.
If a resource you need is not accessible to you, we will work with you to get you its content in a format that works. That is a standing offer, not a formality.

As the accessibility review progresses, we will update this page with what has been fixed and what remains, the same way we handle changes to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use: dated, and in plain language.
